Donations

Make a difference in helping individuals by donating money, clothes, furniture, or your time—experience support unlike any other organization. You Can Make A Difference.

Copperstone is a non-profit organization that participates in fundraising to help finance the services we provide to struggling individuals suffering from homelessness and addiction. We offer a range of services, such as sober living, mental health counseling, treating co-occurring disorders, crisis intervention, skill development, and behavioral health care. Copperstone’s mission is to strive to cultivate an atmosphere of generosity, selflessness, and gratitude by engaging with each individual with integrity of professional and quality services.

Copperstone’s sober living, George Park Manor, is responsible for maintaining all its own infrastructure, utilities and emergency services, and donations help to fund those efforts. Additionally, Copperstone continually works to improve service delivery by expanding our training and resources into the Siouxland Community.

Q. How are the donations used/spent?

Donations are used to fund the valuable programs and services we provide to help heal individuals who have often become homeless due to substance use, lack of affordable housing, poverty, mental illness, domestic violence, and limited access to healthcare. Frequently, homelessness stems from a combination of these issues rather than a single cause.

Copperstone is committed to being transparent and accountable for every dollar donated. Nonprofits assign expenses in three categories: programs, management and general, and fundraising. 100% of our donations go directly to the infrastructure, utilities, and services.

We serve all races, colors, and creeds regardless of an individual’s history. Every person is treated as an individual with individual needs.

Q. Can a donor specify how their donation is to be used?

Yes, donor intent is a priority at Copperstone. We deeply value and respect the wishes of our generous donors. When a donation is made, it is possible to specify where the funds are to go, and we ensure that all gift restrictions and/or designations are fulfilled. Suppose a donor requests a specific preference about how the contribution should be used, such as funding a certain number of individuals, transportation, job seeking, utilities, education, mental health, dental assistance, food, or any other request. In that case, Copperstone ensures that the donation goes exactly where it was requested to make a meaningful impact.

Q. Where are the donations used if no specific request is made?

Unrestricted contributions are used “where needed most” and directed toward the heart of our mission: providing direct care and support and cultivating an atmosphere of generosity, selflessness, and gratitude by engaging with each individual with integrity of professional and quality services. These funds also allow Copperstone to respond swiftly when someone comes off the street without clothes, hygiene products, or food.

Q. Do donations make a difference?

Yes. Donor dollars are instrumental in helping us deliver vital services and support needed to assist in helping others become self-sufficient. We allocate funds efficiently to ensure they have maximum positive impact on those who depend on us. Your contributions, no matter where they are directed, contribute to actual, tangible outcomes in the lives of those we serve. Your support helps us make a difference to one or many homeless individuals, one person at a time.

Q. Do donating gently used clothes, furniture, or anything that helps someone survive make a difference?

Yes. We want our clients to feel respected and cared for. Most individuals come through our doors with little to nothing. As they gain sobriety and employment and get their health needs met, they often move into their own residence. We use the donated supplies to give people a hand up so they can continue their recovery journey.

Q. Does donating my time make a difference?

Yes. We want our clients to learn needed skills such as cooking, cleaning, hygiene, car maintenance, decorating, physical health, meditation, attending the church of their choice, going out to eat, or anything that allows the individual to feel respected and cared for. Every person has talent and special skills. Most individuals who donate their time are surprised by the difference they can make and leave feeling grateful.
